What is the best way to launch a 16' bass boat in shallow water? Front of trailer high or low?

Re: launching in shallow water

In a bass boat most of the weight tends to be on the stern so I would go with the front of the trailer up to get the heavy part floating... That's how I do it with my 15 foot flats boat which is very similar to a bass boat in many ways.. How shallow is shallow??? At one ramp I use if the tides up, I'm lookin at 2 feet of water if I'm lucky and thats with the back wheels of the truck in the water.. Some guys use all sorts of lubricants on the bunks of their trailers to help slide the boats off..

Snapperbait, it's about 1foot deep for about the lenght of the trailer and then it gets deeper. I am going to try to launch it in the morning. I have 4 wheel drive and I figure I will need it.<br />BTW, My boat floats pretty quick so I might not have to much problems I hope. :D
