Hang them on the line for a month :D :D :D <br /><br />Seriously though, Isn't mineral spirts a alcohol base if so hanging the out side would evaporate the alcohol then wash them. Just a suggestion, otherwise no clue.

Add lestoil for one load and then rewash using regular detergent. That should do it

Whatever you do, don't put them clothes in the dryer, even if you think its gone because of the smell! One time I was working on a ship and got my coveralls soaked with JP-5 (an aviation fuel similar to kerosene). I washed them and dried them outside a few times and the smell was gone. Final wash (after the 4th I think), I was dumb enough to put them in the dryer. Luckily in that house I could see the dryer from the living room because it blew off the lint hose in the back and I had a fireball shoot out the back and up the wall. Quick action with fire extinguisher saved the house. Never again. The heat from that dryer gets the fumes going again, mixed with some oxygen and lint, and a quick lesson in spontaneous combustion.

A cup of white vinegar in the final rinse.<br /><br />I have to agree with MY, citris cleaners are also very good at removing odors, check the back label for laundry tips.<br /><br />Since you use mineral spirits to remove paint and the like from clothing, there has to be something to get it out.

Try a pet odor remover called "OUT". It is great for removing odors

What about that stuff on TV, you know..<br /><br />"Billy Mays here for "OXYCLEAN". Gets out freshly spilled grape juice and even wine!"<br /><br />Otherwise, I've got no idea.

Or...<br /><br />You could just pray to those Mineral Spirits...<br /><br /> "Ohh-h Mineral Spirits, get out of my clothes."

It might work Kenny. I've used Oxyclean and don't think its all it cracked up to be.<br /><br />I wonder if you could use the same method as they do to get skunk odors out of clothing? Whatever that is.

But it lasts for months!! :p <br /><br />C) This is a boating forum, not a place to air your dirty laundry.. :D <br /><br />Somebody stop me I'm at work and losing the will to live.<br /><br />Oh, by the way my mom always soaked the real nasty stuff in BIZ. Worked better than anything else she could find.<br /><br />Doug
