I am a novice on laying out fiberglass/wood floor ...Redoing floor in bow area of my bowrider and had a heck of a time laying fiberglass cloth/mat down...I wanted it to be really secure so I am trying to lay cloth/mat and resin on top and bottom of repair seams of floor..I did top with no problem.... wet down board first with resin then laid cloth/mat on top..smoothed out resin on cloth until cloth appeared "clear"..added a couple of more wider layers on top of it repeating above steps...My problem was I wanted a real good re-inforcement on BOTTOM of new to old floor connection as well..Fiberglass cloth/mat stuck to everything but the board.(gravity is tough). ,,,Is it REALLY necessary to do bottom of board?Thanks,Pete44

Try covering the patch with wax paper held in place with tape

Overhead is always tough.
Try letting the wet down board set up until tacky.
Then roll on cloth & let it setup a little more, then wet out w/ a roller.
Use staples to tempararily hold in place if needed.
Be prepared to get sticky. ;)
