I seem to have a small leak from somewhere in the bottom of the rear transom plate. I have narrowed it down to the area just above the bottom of the plate where you can put your fingers in and feel between where the exhaust manifolds meet and exit where the 3 lines run out as well ( I think the shift cable, and 2 hydraulic lines for the leg) not sure where to start. I was going to rent a flexible camera and see if I can get in there with that to narrow it down further. Any ideas? I don't know if its new since I washed the boat bilge constantly last summer as well as the boat. I only noticed it since I spent the first night on the boat this past weekend and the bilge pump ran three times for 10 sec or so over a 12 hour period. could it bee where the horse shoe type manifold meets the transom? Maybe the seal is bad or it is loose? or shift cable? Its on a 91' SeaRay 270da 7.4L Mercruiser with Bravo 2.

I had a new exhaust manifold and ujoint bellows installed this last winter, I had asked them to install a new shift cable but it didn't happen( another story) and then had it out of the water a few weeks ago for leg paint( another story) and inspected the gimbal bearing and bellows when the leg was pulled off. All was fine.

Thanks again everyone!!

Re: leak from trasom into bilge, shift cable? exhaust manifold? hyraulic line?

Was just looking at this post... http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=265327&highlight=bilge+suggestions

Seems I should troubleshoot some more, perhaps the camera will help in the coming days. Unfortunately the boat sits in the water till Sept. when it will go on blocks, I have no trailer for it.

Will keep you posted as I narrow it down.

Any tips are appreciated

Not sure what your leak could be but if it is sitting in the water 24X7 I'd make sure the bilge pump won't give out, batteries stay charged, etc. - especially in case the leak gets works.
