I'm taking on approx 1 gallon of water when boat is left in slip over the weekend. I believe I've narrowed down leak to the swim platform. Since the bolts on the inside of the transom aren't easily accessible, what is the best way to go about fixing leak? Back bolts out and coat with sealant? Seal around bracket where it meets transom? Boat is a 2004 chaparral 220ssi. Thanks

if its thru-bolted you will need to unbolt bits of the boat to get to the bolts to be able to back out and seal

if its simply screwed in from the outside, back out and sea.

if your leaking into the boat, the transom has long since gotten wet. plan on replacing the transom in a few years

I'm getting water in the bilge. Unsure if water is penetrating transom.

It is coming in through the holes for the sim platform? Right, and they come through the transom, there is a really good chance you have a wet transom. I had that where a certain fitting went through and they didn't seal around it well and it got the transom wet. Ended up selling that boat before it became too much of an issue thankfully.

Don't know, most of the swim decks have nuts and backing plates. If you can unscrew them, and it is leaking from that location, you need to get rid of the water, or inject some antifreeze in so it will stop the rot.

Can you post some pics?

I can this weekend when I'm with the boat.

Confirmed leak is NOT coming from swim platform through volts. I am unable to locate a leak via visual inspection. Is there a better way?

If the top of the transom assembly is a bit under water, then I would guess it could be coming from the top pivot pin seal

In the pic below note the water line which is above the gimbal ring
