Re: leaking exhaust
Hi egduf<br />Remove engine cover. 2 If equipt with early model fuel pump, remove the pump cover(BF1000004-1102880). disconnect fuel lines from pump. 3 remove breather tube, carb overflow tube and cooling water tube from tube connecter. 4 Remove throtle and choke linkage.5 Remove the rectifier and disconnect shift linkage. 6 Disconnect Rectifier and oil light wires. 7 Disconnect oil presure switch wire. 8 Remove lower mount housing by removing two 8mm bolts. 9 Remove four 8mm bolts ans separate mid section from oil case. 10 Remove three 6mm bolts and exhaust pipe seal. There is a hidden bolt under the exhaust pipe seal. 11 Remove eight 6mm bolts and take powerhead out of oil case. This is a common problem with these units. It may be leaking at the exhaust seal or the exhaust pipe may be rusted through. Drain engine oil before you start. I strongly suggest that you obtain a repair manual before you begin work. There are a few other little jobs you will probably want to take care of while your in there. The manual will help line this out for you. And you get pictures to boot!
