What effect would a fuel line leak between the tank and the engine have on performance? It leaks air not gas.

Good way to lean out a 2 stroke and blow it up in a heart beat.

If you have a leaking fuel line ...... replace it. No doubt that if it is leaking in one spot other bad spots may happen at the worst time

I dont get how it can leak air. Would seem that if its between the tank and motor it will leak fuel when primed and suck air in the carb when running. Either way it's dangerous and needs fixed. No need to risk a boat and lives over $10 worth of hose.

Yep -- that's a "no fly" item if there ever was one. Don't leave the dock til that's sorted.

The line between the tank and the primer bulb will never see pressure, only vacuum.

Unless the vent gets plugged or shut then he has a bilge full of fuel. Nice little bomb.

KP-,

Bob has an excellent point. Start at the tank and keeping changing fuel line until you reach the engine. That will help improve both safety and reliability. I've been left stranded before because of an old, cracked fuel line. Never again.

The leak is on the top of the ell fitting on top of portable tank and yes it does leak fuel on priming.

If the line is cracked the bulb and other parts aren't far behind. Get a universal bulb and line at wally world for $14 and sleep well knowing your safe.

Ah yep thats your sign, Doesn't matter where it is, I think thats besides the point! I wouldn't even think twice about fixing the fuel lines, I would just do it.
