i have a 2001 tracker 25 hp 4 stroke engine, just got it so it is brand new less than 10 hours on it, noticed that i have had to a quart of oil to it already but figured that it was simply because of breaking it in, raised the motor up the other day and at the bottom of the cowl( area between the block and lower unit)there is a rim piece that seperates the lower unit and i see oil that is dripping out of this cowl and onto that rim dripping into the water, is this exhaust oil like from a 2 stroke or what, the oil drain plug is in this area but it isnt comming from it, it has to either be comming out of the block or from something that has to do with the oil drain system, haven't taken that cowl off yet can anyone tell me what mercury has used to go between the oil drain plug and the bottom of the block assembly and is this where i could be getting my leak from, thanks for any replys
