Is a leaking trim cylinder repairable? If it is, where would I obtain information on how to do and the parts? Is this something that is left to the professionals or can someone who is relatively capable handle the task? Thanks in advance! 1985 Force 125 hp (1258x5a)

if it leaks because of a seal then it is fairly easy to fix. If it leaks because the housing is cracked then it's best to patiently watch ebay and craigslist until one shows up for a reasonable price.

Just open it up and find the right o-ring somewhere? Nothing special?

and bolts. don't forget to use new bolts. if you look carefully at the old ones they almost always look a little thinner just below the cover. That's because they are stretched. (5) 1/4-20 x 1.75" Stainless ferry cap or socket head bolt. Mercury Part# F1959 Grainger part # 6XB46
