Lean Pop....or sneaze?

I have a 1965 18 hp evinrude fast-win. At idle it has a hiccup or sneeze or pop. When I am running WOT it does not do it, it runs awesome. The guy where I buy my boat parts from said it was a lean pop. I was buying points and condensers for it thinking it was a firing problem. Is it as simple as running lean? I don't want to pull the flywheel if it is not necessary.

Should have a knob to adjust idle mixture try adjusting it.Tf it has no effect the carb is probably dirty.

I will do that. I saw the article you wrote about how to set it. Just maybe I will be taking the points and condensers back.

Points and condensors is spark, verify you have good constant spark before you return anything, you may end up needing them. Article I wrote????
