Lean Sneeze and Running Rich

I have an 89 Evinrude 110 that has a lean sneeze at idle however when i pulled the spark plug in the #1 cylinder its dry,black, and sooty? All other appear normal with just a slight amount of oil on them.I thought that would indicate i was running rich however the damn thing is sneezing at idle.

Maybe #1 is running cold.--Start with a compression test.
