I have a small center consol 115 merc 2 stroke and a 15 yamaha 4 stroke its striper season in the north east my question is it getting cold should I leave my motors up or down in the water for the winter. I will pull the boat out soon as I see the lagoon startin to freeze what els do I have to worry about. Thanks dan

Leaving them up will not allow them to self-drain properly and you risk freezing and subsequent block/lower unit damage. Leaving them down in water that freezes is also a good way to damage the boat and the engines. If the water didn't freeze but air temps did dip below freezing is one thing. Leaving the boat in water that turns solid can break things.

I was only planing on leaving it in till the water is ready to start freezing thanks for the reply
