I replaced all my Nav lights with 2 mile Perko LEDs and have had no complaint.

Ive used the attwood removable stern light. it uses a halogen but i light it it works good. i wish i could use led on my boat but it a older boat so the bow light is halogen even know there another bow light on there but halogens work good too.

No reason you can't have a bow light of one type (e.g., halogen) and a stern light of another type (e.g., LED).
