As man reaches a point where almost all diseases can be controlled if not cured or prevented, what would be an acceptable method for humans control its population growth?
We are no where near that... haven't you read any news headlines lately? Unless you think the "Bird Flu" is all hype. Why don't you go to Uganda and the surrounding region and ask them about AIDS. TB still continues to be one of the world's most deadliest infectious disease. Viruses and Bacteria are constantly mutating and providing major challenges to the medical community.

Due to over use of antibiotics, some of us babyboomers are at risk to newer strains of bacteria. More potent antibiotics have lessened effect.

So the premise of your statement is flawed IMO. Abortion seems to be doing it's job of population control. Especially here and in Europe, where resident populations are on the decline.Originally posted by Vlad D Impeller:
As man reaches a point where almost all diseases can be controlled if not cured or prevented, what would be an acceptable method for humans control its population growth?
It was not a statement, it was a question.Originally posted by KaGee:
We are no where near that... haven't you read any news headlines lately? Unless you think the "Bird Flu" is all hype. I think that used to be true, but in the past 20 years or so, we have tried to take all of the danger out of stupid peoples' lives.
There are still some idiots out there succumbing to the Darwin Principle, but look around you.
Smokers (I'm one) are allowed to sue tobacco companies. Some dumbass doesn't check the toilet seat at Home Depot and sues. People sue gun manufacturers.
We actually have to tell people not to stick there hand in front of a band saw, etc, etc.

We are breeding a nation of idiots.Originally posted by rodbolt:
and ya forgot stuidity, but the stupidity gets taken out by the removal from the gene pool. heck you would think the human race would all be genius by now.
nature will take any overpopulation of anyspecies. always has and always does.
makes ya wonder which party to blame the extinction of the dino's on.
