I ran the motor at about 3/4 speed for a continuous 20 to 30 minutes into wind and waves. That has caused the battery charging coil wire windings to over heat and stop increasing voltage at 13. 4 vdc... Oh well back to the dealer to remove the flywheel and replace the overheated coil. I simply forgot to turn on the fish finder and put it into constant battery reading mode.
Still love the reliability of the 1986 Evinrude. :)(y)(y)

WRONG
I checked the battery volts and age . 8 winters old and 12.4 volts when cooled down for 8 hours.
Put in a new battery that was load tested and dated 4/ 25.
All works normally. Old people really do not keep track of parts aging.
