Well, we are getting close to getting it wet. The buffing and sanding of the hull is complete. Thanks to all for the great info from this forum! I sanded the hull to remove oxidation, used a DA sander started with 500 grit, then 800, then 1000. I then buffed with Imperial 3m Compound, love this stuff. Then color restorer from Starbrite, then McGuire's polish. Put the stripes on the hull, still have some checkered to put on the top of rear sides. Then plan to wax with carnuba wax. We ended up replacing all the guages, rewire the instrument panel and switches. My wife re coved all the dash panels with carbon fiber vinyl, will post those later. Painted the out drive using Self etching primer from Rustoleom, then painting with grey metallic paint. Looks OK, could use a sanding and another coat. Still need to fix a leaking trim cylinder, I found a shop in town, quoted 49 dollars to reseal it. Also need to mount SX Nautilus trim tabs, doing that tonight, and replace trim sender, may have to wait till next season.
So let me thank you all again, and let me know what you think!

Update:
June 5th
Finished adding rest of graphics and added new pictures. The hatch mirror had a Wood frame, stained it blk and added graphic. The dash was a complete redo, wife put vinyl on the existing dash and glove box with carbon fiber, then removed trim rings and added red mirrored vinyl. I replace all guages and rewired dash and cabin lights. Run it on the muffs, ran fine, idled high 1500 rpms, and shifted into gear hard with a little grinding. Lowered the idle to 1000, seemed to shift better. Ran up to 160 degrees, t-stat opened and ran about 140. Next test to see if she floats!

Looks GREAT.

$49.00 to reseal a trim cylinder is a good price.

I wouldn't get to bend out of shape over the trim sender.....I never even look at my trim gauge, you can tell just by the feel of the steering wheel and your tachometer. For some reason trim senders aren't very dependable, I replaced mine twice in five years just because it's there and I wanted it to work....but got tired of messing with somthing you really don't need.

Happy boating....

Thanks! Yeah I never really used my trim guage on my merc, but it would only trim so far out unless you used the trailer button on the control. This one uses only one trim button so I guess you could over trim. I am going to try it and see how it goes. I would assume if I over trim, I will know it.

Your boat turned out great. I have a 1988 Liberator 201 that is nearly fully restored. My question is what kind of gauges did you use, where did you find them, and did you have to make any modifications? If possible, could you take a pic of the wiring for the back of your gauges? I appreciate any help you can provide. My email is simplearkansan@att.net. Thanks again.

As a fellow Four Winns owner let me say beautiful job. I especially like the Four Winns logo on the deck.
