I'm about to separate the cap from the hull and since I won't have enough bodies to manually remove. I need some ideas (with pictures preferably) of some kind of 2x4 wood hoist frame or any ideas of how to go about separating the two. Thanks in advance.

I didn't have any help at the time I needed so I used ratchet straps around the separating cap; attached to some beams in the barn the boat was in. I then just moved the trailer with the hull on it out from underneath the suspended cap and then lowered it to the ground. You can lower one side of the cap, bit by bit at a time by yourself to the ground but you will need another person to help you move it if you need to as it is very flexible once off the hull. Hope this helps.

Thanks JM appreciate your response. My garage doesn't have enough head room to lift it off. I need to fabricate some kind frame to assist in lifting.

May I ask why you didn't post this on your rebuild thread?
To answer you question, this frame and three friends and you on each corner can do the job
Or a come along and a lag eye bolt screwed into a garage rafter using nylon straps(Green lines) would do the job too!!
Lift one end and slide the 2x4 across the beam then lift the other end and do the same. Then attach both sides.

Sorry about begining a new thread wasn't thinking. I am assuming your sketch is looking down on the boat? In this case it won't work as once the cap is hanging I wouldn't be able to open the garage door to roll out the trailer. Thanks for your idea.

Like I said If you got 3 friends you can lift it up and carry it it out side. If you strap it to the frame you can store it tilted against the side of the house.

since you cant lift from the ceiling, use 2 engine cranes/hoist one on the bow and one on the stern. lift it up using straps attached to the cap and once clear of the hull pull both cranes back the the same time...done :)

Good idea on the engine cherry pickers but they won't go high enough and 4 people can't raise it over 2' to clear the hull. The splash well is 12" deep and the bow seats are 28" deep. They are both molded in. I may have to unload it on the ground remove it then back on the trailer. I just didn't want move the hull around that much. I would have to repeat this when I put it back together. Thanks again for your suggestions.
