Lightest material to build hi speed boat???

Im looking into various boat building materials and hope someone can help. For a hi performance outboard powered hull what would be the lightest? I think it would be kevlar or aluminium but which would be the lighter of these 2? How about the strength to weight ratio which is also important?

Carbon fibre is by far the strongest and lightest material available. also the most expensive...A combination of kevlar skin and carbon fibre innards is probably the best combination.....good luck.........

ndemge, Please send me some transparent aluminum, I'm building an invisible boat and that's just what I need. Do you know of any clear outboards? Thanks a lot.

Hey, thats not a bad idea...<br /><br />Make a clear cover for the outboard motor...<br /><br />Then you can see when you are overheating because you will see the paint on the engine smoking...<br /><br />And if you are asian,, you could put a blue neon light in there as well...<br /><br />Then all you need is a Knight rider "eye" on the front of the boat and you are all set.. <br /><br />rgds<br /><br />Franki

thats what they built Hulk Hogan's boat out of !
