After rewiring and putting new lights on my trailer, I have exhausted my limited skills........

I have a hopkins 6 round adapter for my Yukon that connects to a 4 flat on my trailer. I have installed new wiring on the trailer and new lights on the trailer (seemed pretty no-brainer in wiring color to color). I drilled a hole for the ground on the top of the trailer just behind the ball. However, I am not able to get any light action on the trailer. Before I connect the trailer wiring to the adapter on the car, I turn on the hazard lights and the LT and RT are flashing on the adapter. As soon as I plug in the trailer lights all 3 LEDs begin flashing (TM, LT, RT) - is this supposed to be telling me what is wrong? Does anybody have experience with this?

Check for a good ground at the lights. If your trailer has a tilt mechanism that is a common place to lose connection

Does the trailer have surge brakes on it? If so, the ground connection needs to be on the main frame, not the coupler section that moves. Sounds like a bad ground is the offender.
