We should'nt leave until all the job is done!And as far is goes in my opion there should'nt be any politics in any of it,let the military do there job there way,just my 2 cents.

I would love to see all of the troops come home.<br />If we cut and run before the job is done we won't ever be able to stand straight again.<br />America has always been known for its grit and now most of all is the time to show it.<br />For how long did we fight insurgents here after we won our independence.<br />I agree with ron on this.

I did not vote because I don't like the choices. An immediate pull-out is not the answer, but neither is "staying the course"

I read your other post.<br /><br />It reminds me of what J F Kerry might say...."An immediate pull-out is not the answer, but neither is staying the course". <br /><br />Just pick what fits your plan for now PW. We never planned to rule Iraq. Pull out is part of the plan. But the how and if and when will change with the time and events.

I think that we will begin pulling out sooner than most people think. After all we have accomplished just about everything we set out to do.<br />Destroy WMDs-check (granted that seems to have mostly happened before we invaded)<br />Depose Hussein-check<br />End support for terrorists by Hussein-check<br />Constitution-check<br />Democratic elections-check<br />Iraq handling it's own security-partial check<br /><br />All in all it seems that we are really close here.

Pulling out prematurely would:<br /><br />1. Destroy US credibility in the world.<br /><br />2. Abandon the Iraqi people to the troubles we got them into. We owe it to them to finish the job.<br /><br />3. Be the most incredibly stupid and dishonorable thing the US has done since Wounded Knee.

JB,<br /><br />One question...what credibility? Everybody hates us now. The only way that would change with Iraq is if we get out very soon, and everything runs as smoothly as a newborn's butt upon our departure. Neither of these things are likely to happen.

i really think everyone wants the same thing. we want things complete, and we want our troops home. the only thing dems and repubs really fight over is whether gwb has adequately explained the plan. i personally don't think so. but i'd rather argue over that, and still see things wrapped up in time.

If we pull out now the country will end up in anarchy......A timeline was set for elections, (SHAM!)......We need to set a timeline for withdrawal....It should not take 10-20 years for the populace of Iraq to "pull it together"....JK

I'm not sure most people understand what you just said. And you just said a lot!<br /><br />The people of Iraq have taken almost a blind step of faith (if not the only one granted them) because of us. And we need to follow through.<br /><br />Ask any OLD South Korean, German (pick a country) and they are gratefull what we did.<br /><br />We had won the war (not many know this) in Vietnam by late 68/early 69 but lost it in Washington DC. Look at the blood bath that happened when we left!<br /><br />Let us not let these people down.<br /><br />my .02

I didn't vote either because of the choices.<br />My preference is to change "the course" and vastly escalate our forces and aggression.<br /><br />Staying the present course (in Iraq) will eventually prove another war lost by politicians playing with toy solgiers in a sandbox.<br /><br />

Don't fool yourself,the majority on iboats don't participate in DC. The majority position most likely lies with them.

I hear and see requests for a time line, a plan, for withdrawal.<br /><br />Is this a plan? "Stay until Iraq can manage her own security". Sounds like a plan to me.<br /><br />Want something more detailed? Yup, the terrorists would really like to hear a more detailed plan. Think we ought to give it to them?<br /><br />I do not recall our government, or any government, EVER publishing war plans for the enemy to read. Think about it.<br /><br />"Everybody hates us."
