Re: linc and sync

You need a manual to do it properly as there are certain steps that must be done in order given.

If it is a Merc manual, it will be under "Timing, Synchronizing and Adjusting".

What HP motor do you have?

Re: link and sync

ok i have spark .very blue .but it wont start just replaced the dist. and removed fly wheel to do so .everything looks right.the lines line up on the timing belt pulley and housing. ,marked the flywheel to put everything back the same way it came off.the rotor was pointed to number one wire. and.should the plug be wet with gas after trying to start?

Choke the crap out of the motor. You cannot flood it, and they are real hard to start when cold.

Of course starting also assumes that the compression is good, the carbs are clean and the spark is in time.
