When I ran my boat last year (19 ft fiberglass) It leaned to the port side terribly. Till it got up on plane. I don't know if this is normal or not. I tried loading it differently but to no help. I'm think it may of been due to the torgue of the I?O but not sure. Asked on marine dealer and he said it was normal. Is there any way to prevent this? Would the Pro trollers smart tabs do it?

It sounds like the boat is fine when moving through the water, so tabs of any kind will not keep your boat from listing while just sitting, nor will drive torque.

The boat is heavy on the low side if it lists when sitting at the dock.

Some boats have a mild starboard side list because of the helm, wiring, controls and battery being on the same side. It's usually mild to hardly noticeable. You have a noticeable list to port side.

I'd be concerned you have water trapped in the hull... and/or maybe a section of the stern is waterlogged (waterlogged wood and floatation foam). How old is the boat? Are you the original owner?

Boats left out to rot will do just that. Waterlogged structure can be rotting and/or weakened, especially the deck, stringers and transom. You need to dig around and figure out what is going on.

Edit: torque doesn't cause a list off plane. Sometimes it causes less than perfect but perfectly acceptable steering.

Well sold that boat and bought a star craft. But the reason I asked is the owner said this one had a little. What I was talking about isn't at the dock or just drifting. It's when you start moving and going on plane. It leaned left till plane and then it was straight. Also since both battery's and every thing was starboard I just couldn't under stand it. Thought one of you may have seen it before. The boat was in good shape and no dry rot I could tell.
