I have two Sterndrive. when i spin one of my stern-drive while its on neutral. it don't make any noise at all.

but when i spin the other stern-drive it make a knocking sound. just a little sound you can barely hear until you pay attention. and its not a smooth as my other stern-drive. it will spin freely but not as freely.

is this some kind of a symptom of something bad going to happen.

both stern-drive work good.

iam just worry of why the other sound better and spin more better than the other one??

any idea

It Kind of sounds like your shift cable may be off adjustment just a little bit, If the drives are trimed up some times they will do that, But if the drives are trimed down and you still have the Noise then it's time to do something about it.;)

...on the drive making the noise: Try shifting into forward and return to neutral QUICKLY. Do the same but to reverse. If the noise goes away, yup, the shift cable needs a minor adjustment.

Could be a the U joint or also the gimbal bearing starting to wear out.

Does it happen more trimmed up or when the wheel is turned. The U joint on my old boat is louder at idle when turned.

...can't be a u-joint. This noise is limited to the lower unit. I still think the one of the drive dogs is just barely touching due to a maladjusted cable or excessive cable wear/slack/binding.

Then it could be a bearing or gear wearing in the lower unit. I'd have it looked at when convenient. If the sound gets louder then I'd have it looked at sooner then later.
