Hello all,
Just a basic opinion question here...
I have a prokat 22 CC with two live wells in the stern that you walk between as you get off of the boat on the stern. From what i can see is just a bad design, the hatches on the live wells open all the way up and lay flat towards the stern. They do not have any support springs or anything like that so if you by accident raised an outboard with the hatch laying open, they would collide and either break the hatch hinges or dent the engine cover (yes, this has happened when i was in the water and a friend of mine raised one of the engines.. arghh). Anyway, i am going to attach hatch support springs so they only open to 90 degrees or a little more.
My questions is...
- Would you mount them on the inner ends of the hatches or to the outside ends of the hatches? My inclination is the outer since they wouldnt get in the way when you are standing in the middle of the boat and getting things out of the wells.
Thanks,
Charles
