I want to install a livewell and double-duty the pump as a washdown system. I'm thinking about using a 750gph thru-hull livewell pump (or even a bilge pump of a higher capacity), running the hose up to a tackle station, fitting a Y connector, and running 2 seperate hoses...one for a part-time livewell and one to a prefab washdown hose with nozzle. Does this sound feasible? I know I won't be able to use both at the same time and I know that the wasdown pressure will be minimal. I really don't need a high pressure washdown...just something to wet the decks and to rinse.
Any suggestions or thoughts are GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Rick

I don't think the bilge pump will work as a wash dowm pump they are not designed to work against head (resistance to flow).

Both applications using one pump is an excellent idea. Any continuous duty pump will work. Caution: not all bilge pumps are rated for continuous duty. ShuFlo’s makes the Bait Sentry pumps. Jabsco makes a pump for just about any application. Obviously, the higher the GPM/GPH, the more squirt you are going to get.
