locating transducer

I need to mount a transducer on my toon, but do not want to drill holes in logs. I was wondering if I could mount it on the trough that the motor mounts on. I know that when in reverse the turbulance from prop would give false readings but when in forward it should be in clean water. What do you all think. There are no brackets on logs to mount to, and if I have bracket welded on, it would limit my access to the drain plug. What do y'all think?
Thanks
Michael

Re: locating transducer

Have you already bought the transducer?
If not, there is a model that attaches to an outboard motor......

You can mount it anywhere below waterline, in clean water.

Re: locating transducer

Hey DustyJacket, I am transfering from another boat. I looked at trough where motor mounts, and think that this will be the best place to mount. When in forward this should be in clean water.
Thanks
Michael
