Re: Locked Motor
Fifteen years is (gulp) quite a spell! Could well have some real stalagmites in those cylinders. But not much to hurt by trying to free it up.

Pull the plugs, pour an ounce of 'juice' down each hole. Actually try to spray it in as best you can. Let it sit for a couple of days. Then use a breaker bar and socket on the crank pully nut and try to break it free.

If you do break it free, turn it over several revolutions, spraying in some additional MMO. Check to make sure you have oil in it. Verify the oil pressure guage works ( ground lead)then crank it over until you get 20 or so lbs of pressure.

Now the fun begins. Supply water to the outdrive, your impeller is probably shot so disconnet the line from the outdrive to the thermostat housing to verify water to the motor, Reinstall the plugs, verify you have spark, make sure you have fresh gas, (you'll probably have to prime the carburetor) and let her rip. Do not rev it. Let it warm up at a fast idle till the temp comes up then shut it down and change the oil and filter.

If you get it running you should take the outdrive to a mechanic and have everything serviced and the impeller changed. Your seals could be shot as well. If you get excess smoke or oil consumption you'll know the motor has to come apart. You could have rusty valves and seats, pitted cylinder walls and all kinds of problems but I'd give it a whirl.

Some might say you should tear it down from the git go. ????? but I think you have nothing to lose. Chebby sixes are cheap.

ps I just noticed you're from Nuwaleeans. With that gulf state humidity I ain't holdin my breath.
