log to center style manifold conversion

I need a new exhaust on my MCM 260 350GM mercruiser V8. I can purchase a conversion kit to replace the old style log manifolds with the new center style from aqua power, sierra or barr. Anyone have any experience with this conversion. It is cheaper to convert than to buy new log manifolds and risers. Pros and Cons

Replace them with what was originally in there. Osco makes replacement log style and they are right up the street from me. The manifolds there are cheap and if you cant track down there number, let me know and I will get it for you.

I disagree,the center rise style is a better design for cooling.I had it done on a searay i once owned and the cost was about the same and I was told by more than one mechanic that that was surely the best way to go.Charlie

I am leaning toward doing the conversion. I have also been told by more than one mechanic that the cooling to the engine is improved. I can buy a complete kit for $599.95 from www.marineengineparts.com that includes all parts which is cheaper than buying the log style.

Cedric,try basic power .com they have specials at times and can come in even cheaper.Charlie
