Hi I am the proud owner of a new used 17 foot skie boat . It has a Volvo Penta engine, I think is an AQ125 don't know if it is a A or B model as the Volvo database doesnt go that far to look by serial number and have narrow down the engine using the HP , # Cylinder and year of the engine, I do know is a 270 drive. On my 4th time taking the boat to the lake I forgot to put the tramson guard lock and drop the drive wich broke the prop (leason learn and I have added to my printed checklist).
The reason for the post is I need to replace my prop and while reading the volvo prop guide.
Aluminium high speed long hub propeller
V6 and V8 engines should always be fitted with the long hub which is also suitable for 4 cylinder petrol engines.
If I read this correctly I can use a long hub prop on my 270 drive, my current prop is a short hub prop. I have been looking at a couple of props and want to have an option to what I can buy since I will buying a used prop for now from an auction site.
