I have a 15' Duracraft and it now has long shaft 35 h.p. on it. I have a 35 short shaft that is in better shape and would like to put it on boat. Any ideas abt. cutting part out of transom to make motor fit..........thanks

I wouldn't want to start cutting up the transom.
Are the motors the same, with interchangable parts?

Why not take the better top half, and mate it up with the longshaft lower unit?

I used to have a '65 evinrude 35 short shaft and a '68 johnson 40 long shaft and I would switch the lower ends, drive shafts, and water tubes back and forth to see which motor worked better on which boat.
