Re: Look at this.

Looks like an albino elk to me. We have albino whitetails here in Pa. I have seen several of them pure white and some that have big white patches. Nice photo.

Nice looking critter, Is it from your neck of the woods. My uncle had a true albino whittail (pink eyes) on his property for several years. Always amazed us no one poached it. Other than that one I have seen one other in the wild. More than most have ever seen.

Re: Look at this.

have seen a half white, half brown whitetail deer. was setting in my tree stand and was kinda puzzled when i saw this. the hind quarters were brown, and the rest white. the two fawns with her were normal. this kind of deer is considered piabald? here in OK. to the best of my knowledge, it is illegal to shoot white or piabald deer. does anyone know for this for sure. will check hunting regs.

I didn't take these pictures,and I don't know
were they were taken. I would assume they were
taken some were in Canada. I think it would be
a very rare site to see an Albino Moose.
I have seen a Kermode Bear. They are found in
northern British Columbia in a very small area.
I saw the white black bear in Terrace B.C. when I was
young and out on a trip with my father.

Re: Look at this.

that puppy should never be shot. well i wouldn't anyway. but i guess its so rare....someone will think diff.

yep, a freak of nature, absolutely beeyutiful. :D

there are piebald deer in good numbers in certain parts of GA. what is cool -is i know where one lives up here in N GA, and it luckily is a big lakeside subdv. we have very good friends who are a realtor & punchdown man(wood trim) and they've seen it a dozen times at least. it was too cool- the very first time i went to check out her new subdv, we met, ate dinner, drove over after dark... came up a hill, across a saddle right near a big peninsula (a good 400' rise above the lake)and i nearly ran over the dam thing! all i was thinking was 'that aint no deer, its a jersey cow!' it was white with few large dark spots - unreal. an appaloosa deer :D hehehe

if i had a 1000 ac, i'd love to raise some of its offspring there. just a thought :)

Re: Look at this.

Had an albino deer staring me down at 35 yards one day. Had so many mixed emotions - would make a nice mount, so pretty, so rare, so rare, do I shoot, or don't I shoot. Contemplated my options for about 10 minutes as I watched him. Then he made up my mind by moving behind a tree and then proceeding over the ridge. Made my day!

Is moose fur better than polar bear fur? Wouldn't that look great infront of the fireplace? :p
