After succussfully fighting the off itch for something a bit bigger and more fishing friendly, I am surcuming to temptation. I've got a gleam in my eye for a nice looking walk around. Here's the particulars. It's a '92 23' Celebrity Fish Hawk. From what I can tell from a quick once-over, it's in very good shape. The bottom could use a fresh coat of anti-fouling paint and the PO painted the sterndrive (I'm *assuming* it's an Alpha I). It has a Mercruser 350 in it (I really don't want to think about the fuel usage at this point compaired to my 4.3) and the hour meter shows just under 500 hours. It has a birdge enclosure that is in really good shape and the side curtains are still completely clear. I'm going to take a MUCH better look this weekend and weather permitting, a test cruse before I start talking numbers.

Now with that out of the way, here come the questions. From my research, I've discovered that Celeberty no longer produces boats (source: NADA guide). This really doesn't bother me to much, since they only really produced the hull.

Does anybody have any information about this manufacturer, or why they no longer produce boats after 1998? Also what type of performance can I expext? It will mainly be used on a large freash water lake, but I plan on taking it out on the Chessapeak (sp?) bay this summer, but not to far out. I've heard the horror stories about how fast the conditions out there and am wondering how this boat would handle a large, somewhat sheltered saltwater bay. Any additional information and opinions are greatly appreciated. TIA
