I'm looking at buying a sunbrella/sharkskin for my 16' glass boat. The old one is all beat up and too low to my likings. I have a couple of questions and also like to hear inputs what particular you like/dislike about these things.

1. What is the differences between 2-bow and 3-bow frame?
2. Can you cruise with the top up?
3. Anything I should be aware for installation?

so it sounds like you want to replace your "bimini" top. both the cover and frame. sunbrella and sharkskin are the most common available materials that come in a wide range of colors. sunbrella i believe takes the edge in material preference. i think as far as two or three support bows, that depends on the length (how much boat ya want covered). mine has three bows and its about 4'. there are straps that go from the front bow to the windshield frame for support during moderate cruising. i cruise in the 20s with mine up. things to consider? measure twice, get a quality frame with stainless hardware and pick a nice color. the only dislike i have for mine is that it doesn't fold down flat and out of the way for a totally open deck to fish. here is mine. good luck!

Both are quite good products alot prefer sunbrella but sharkskin is pretty good (i've had good luck with mine). Usually the 2 bow is 5' and under in length, 3bow is 5 1/2' + in length. The third bow seems to give more support in the middle of the top. (less parachute effect) I have a 2 bow right now but it had to be that way because of what I was after, I custom ordered it to fit under my tower but not be so long that the rope hit it coming off the tower. But it HAD to be tall enough for me to walk under without ducking otherwise no deal for me. I ordered it from I boats and have been pleased with it so far(2 yrs with alot of use). I used some pvc and a tarp to kind of mock up what I wanted because of such tight tolerences under the tower etc. It really helped in the measuring/ordering process. It took me about an hour+ to install. By doing it this way I was abel to save hundreds over a tower specific bimini, it looks custom, and is a bit bigger than a tower specific one. I can do 35-40mph with it up and it is fine. Here in utah lake powell can get unbareable in the summer 105+* so some sun relief is paramount. Good luck
