I want to replace my current boat cd player. my current cd player is relatively new, about a year old Sony MEX-N5100BT and is a nice stereo, unfortunately due to its location in the lower part of the dashboard it is hard to reach controls while the boat is running. Also the splash guard is getting in the way, so I'm looking for a fairly inexpensive in $150 range high output stereo with cd player, blue tooth and remote. any advices?

Pick anything that has those features. Pioneer, Sony, etc. If control location is a deciding factor go with the one that has controls in the right location.

Marine will cost you more. It may be worth it if it might get wet. Mine is in the glove box where it stays dry.

I don't like the controls and may someday get around to changing it out.

so any car stereo with the right features will do, since I have mine well hidden from the water splashing and has a front splash? I wondered if Pyle, Boss or other cheap marine grade stereos are good choices, but looks like with the cheap price comes low output and no amplifier or RCA outputs, so I decided not to look at these products

Others might object, but my entire stereo sans speakers is car audio stuff. Deck, equalizer, 3 amps, etc. 10 speakers are Polk db651 car speakers with plastic cones. If they fall apart, they are cheap to replace. 1 set of tower speakers are kicker marine speakers and my sub is a 12" wetsounds.

As far as components, car is fine if dry. If you have a helm remote or transom remote, make sure your deck is compatible
