I AM lOOKING FOR A STARTER SPRING WINDER & INSTALLER. IT WOULD BE MUCH EASIER INSTALLING THE SPRING WITH ONE OF THESE. I CANT FIND IT ANYWHERE ON THE NET. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFO ON THIS? THANKS

I never heard of such a device. I always used my hands (with heavy gloves, long sleeves, eye protection and a Manual). It is a very difficult and dangerous operation, particularly the larger engines

Do you know what the part number of the tool is? IF it is 392093, it is available from any Evinrude/Johnson dealer. But I don't know why anybody would need one--besides, they are only $171.73.

I've got one of those winders, what it is for is to restore a spring that has been distorted, such as when the recoil rope breaks, and the spring gets a reverse kink. Will gladly part with it for $179.00.
