Looking for a strange part.

(Note to sysop, I'm not looking to "buy" this part, but I'll pay well for "shipping") <br /><br />I'm looking for the top chrome handle (complete) from a 66/67 Merc 1100 (I think the 900 will fit too - same years)<br /><br />I need it because it's the only handle that will correctly fit the 99ci top hats. I'm re-doing my '88 driver with a really custom retro-job.<br /><br />Anyone got such a critter laying around?<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />-W

Are you talking about the chrome piece that runs down the middle of the top section of the cowling? If so, I think I have one.

Yes, it bolts to the top hat. Has a little "handle" in front and makes a chrome stripe down the middle. Only a 66 or 67 will work for me, because the ealier top hats were more "straight cut" at the top front, while the 66 / 67 were angled back a bit - more like the later 99ci hats. The result is that the "notch" where the "handle" turns into a "strip" is in a different place on the 61-65 units.<br /><br />email me at wa1mkh@comcast.net if that's the one you have.<br /><br />-W

Yeah Clams, I think I have it. I need to get back to the lake this weekend to look in the barn. I have a 67' 1100 and a 950(do not know year) that looks like the one you want. I am taking that you do NOT want the older Kickaufer cowling.

You are wanting that piece of chrome on top that is formed into a handle at the top rear of the cowling. All the newer mercs used the cowling air vent(on top rear) as the lift handle..... Right? I am thinking you want the Retro Sharkfin look.

To clarify........ <br /><br />There may be a chrome trim bezel on that rear air vent - I don't want that - but if you have it all the better.<br /><br />The thing I want is the big chrome piece that makes a handle in the front and a stripe on the top.<br /><br />-W
