I'm getting ready to replace the carpet in my Bass Tracker TX-17, And looking for an alternative. I don't want anything sprayed in. Have been looking at Marideck vinyl, And Nautolex Marine vinyl flooring, They seem to be pretty much the same Other than price. ( Nautolex about half the price of Marideck )
I'm wanting something thats better at cleaning up. I'm a multi species angler but do a lot of catfishing at night, So cut bait and such is a problem. Also I think it would extend the life of the flooring. One thing I have read is that your floor must be free of defects because the vinyl is so thin that flaws show through. I was thinking of the nautolex decko dot flooring because of the extra non slip but to me its not pleasing to the eye.
What are the pro's & con's of vinyl, and does anyone like it. Does it wear well? Get slippery when wet. All info welcome as well as alternative to vinyl.Thank you

there is hydroturf, that they use on jets skis, it is non slip. and there is grizzly grip which is a roll on application. Nautolex, has a good reputation.

Re: Looking for alternative to carpet

I used the hydroturf on my bow steps and stern ski platform, and it works great. It's kinda spongy and the traction is terrific. I had a little trouble glueing it down, but used 3m marine glue. The only problem is that the stuff swells under heating, and I'll get a bubble on my ski platform when the sun is really hot. Don't know how to solve that (putting little pinholes in it doesn't do the trick).
