Looking for discount dealer for new 50HP outboard

My local dealer's prices are too high and I will buy a new engine from a reputable discount engine dealer. Prefer 2 cycle, direct inject of any brand (prefer Yamaha or Johnson).<br /><br />Who do you recommend onlien for best low prices?<br /><br />Thanks!<br /><br />Tony!

Those engines are almost all used although they call them 'demo' and such. Plus, the prices seem to be the same for new engines and all these are indicated as rebuilt or demo and such.<br /><br />So, I am still interested in recommendations from others on good discount dealers for mid-range outboards!<br /><br />Thanks!<br /><br />Tony

Tony.<br /><br />Think for a minute.<br /><br />iboats provides this site to you free, to get technical help and information.<br /><br />iboats sells engines. That is a big part of the business that supports this site. Warranties are provided.<br /><br />We do not accept posts that promote or assist any competitor. Don't you think it is rude to ask for such info??

If I am looking for a NEW motor and iboats does not sell new motors, then what is wrong with that? Seems pretty simple to me. If iboats offers the best deals then of course people should say that.

Hi tonycliffy<br /><br />I, as a lot of others have had lots of help and information from many members of this board. But it could not have been done without the people from Iboats who got the idea, established and run this board. As long as the Iboats people sells boatmotors, new or used, advertising the same, or promoting other dealers would be competition to the owners, who provided us with this great board. That wouldn´t be fair.

This is a tough topic. I can see both sides. Thanks people for sticking up for iboats. It is true that the results of our engine sales as well as other parts/accessory sales are what keep our company and this board going strong. We never got the millions of dollars of investment like other dot coms 4 years ago. We are just a legitimate small family boating business trying to beat the dot com odds. So far, so good. <br /><br />Tonycliffy, how funny that you should mention your preference to a Yami or Johnson. If you don't mind getting a model from last year or so, we have some new 50 hp engines that might work for you. Have you tried calling our guys since we don't/can't list all the engines we have available? Our number is 800-869-1686 as always. Hope this helps. Thanks again everyone for sticking up for us.

Tony, Just a thought,Forget the discount dealer unless they can provide factory trained support.<br /> Even if you are going to do your own work<br /> you need a well trained dealer that is going to be there when you need them.<br /> Unless they are a comeplete rip off support your local dealer or you may not have a local dealer<br />to support.
