Looking for Gasket set info

Hello Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and this is my first post here. First off, I am amazed at the knowledge here! There is so much info here that I'm sure is going to be of huge benefit while I rebuild my motor.

I bought a boat and motor for next to nothing and I'm in the process of rebuilding both. The motor is a 55 hp Chrysler 557BA (which I believe is a 1970). I'm trying to find out if the the Gasket set is the same as the 1972 since I can't find anything for the 1970? According to http://www.maxrules.com/fixchryslergasket2.html the head gaskets are the same so I was wondering if the Gasket kit would be?

Right 1970
Contact the guy on the site and tell him what you need.
I understand they are good to deal with.'

Most kits around that year will work.

Welcome to iboats, btw. Of course, you do realize that we don't even believe you have a boat OR a Chrysler 55hp since there were no pictures posted. Just sayin'.......

LOL, fair enough! Here is the boat/motor I acquired for peanuts...So far I've replaced the transom and floor and stripped it for painting.
