todd, by "stripped out", do you mean the gear teeth are stripped? If so, better check the bushing in the gearcase, right above the pinion gear. They wear and that lets the pinion move to one side, causing catastrophic gear damage. Pretty common in the 10hp motors 1958 and newer.
What I'm saying is if that is what you have, don't waste your time on replacement gears. They will just strip again. The bushing is cast in and not replaceable.
