I want something decent but short of cutting up a broom stick and using a lathe I don't have any ideas and don't know where to buy replacement handles....
If you don't have the ability or equipment to fabricate them yourself, any hobby woodworking shop, cabinet maker, or finish carpenter could make them up for you with whatever wood you want, using one of the originals as a template.
Yup, and I'm thinkin this^^^ is gunna be the ONLY way to get em replaced. Do the end caps come off?? If not then the handles will need to be fabricated in "Halves" and then glued togehter at final assembly. If I lived in your vicinity I'd for sure tackle this project. I LOVE doing these kinds of Projects!!!I'd recommend Teak or White Oak as your material of choice and then use an oil based product to treat the wood on a regular basis to ensure longevity.
Looks like watching all those episodes of This Old House with Norm Abrams is gonna pay off.... time to get out my drill press and rig up a makeshift lathe... I CAN DO THIS!!!! yes I can!
