Looking for ideas for anchor storage

[holiday for me]

Hey fellas, I'm looking for some ideas for stowing my anchor on my 74 holiday 18.
I'm thinking of maybe cutting ( gasp! ) the bow to put a drop in bin with a hatch for my anchor.
right now it is in a 5 gallon pail that i shove under the bow when not in use.
any ideas would be helpful.
and no i'm not going to trade her for a SS

Hi Holiday, I've got a '72 Holiday 21'. That huge deck is getting longer as I age. I've decided to try carrying my anchor in a bow roller. I have already mounted the roller for a self launching Delta anchor. I have also mounted a through deck fitting to route the anchor line such that it emerges through the dashboard inside the cockpit. I have a plastic milk crate on rollers that disappears under the centre step for line storage. It sounds crude, but I it think looks pretty smart so far. I may mount a Spinlock powerclutch to clamp the line to the reinforced dashboard. I know that an anchor line should have X number of feet of chain rode, but after a lifetime of boating, I've decided to do what works for me for my kinda lazy boating and just use rope. It'll be a few weeks before I have the boat out of storage and get something picture worthy completed. What have you thought of doing?- Grandad

I hav a bullet type Anchor mounted where the old bow light was. I removed the light and installed 2 side lights up front. Look in ANCHORS under LEE- LOCK i think they are the cats meow but a bit prich but sure get the thing out of fth way with little work to insrtallm Mine was just over 280 dollars .plus rope.
