Looking for manufacturer's recommended WOT

5.7 liter Mercruiser 350 cid/260 nhp installed new in 2003

Mercruiser 898 outdrive

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Do I need to provide more info?

Might you also know the correct, recommended, or common pitch for an engine of this sort? Obviously there's a lot of variables involved with selecting pitch besides MFG WOT. I open up to WOT (if I can remember correctly, it's around 4500) and I many times notice a bogging sound (whaa -whoo- whaaa- whooo...) at the very top. Could my pitch be to high or low? Should I look elsewhere (carb)? Let me know your thoughts.

Ayuh,...

The Correct prop pitch is the 1 that allows the motor to reach the proper WOT, rpms.....
And,...
I'm pretty sure that 4500 rpms is in fact between 4400,+ 4800 rpms....

It sounds like you might have Other problems,....(whaa -whoo- whaaa- whooo...)
