looking for parts - merc ke4

Mornin':<br /><br />Don't know if this is the appropriate place for this but here goes. <br /><br />I am looking for a recoil assembly (basically the top of the motor) and bottom or side cowling for a 1949 Mercury KE4 7.5hp motor. Anyone out there able to help me out (either have the parts or can direct me in the right direction)?<br /><br />Have a great weekend. Thanks in advance.

Tsutter, You can get new parts at www.oldmercs.com, but I would think you would want used parts in this case. See if Ebay can assist you.<br />You can also do a internet search for Used Merc Parts, and see what happens. There is a OB motor junkyard near me in NJ, but they have mostly OMC stuff and nothing much earlier than 1956.

try www.twincityoutboards.com they have over 10000( yes thousand) outboards in stock for parts and specilaize in finding parts that are no longer made.... check em out, if they cant get it, its not available
