Hi Guys,

I will need to replace my exhaust manifolds and risers soon.
Is there a performance difference between vendors, models, etc

What other things can I do to improve exhaust flow ?

This is for a chevy 350 with approx 320 HP

Thanks, Roy

volvo manifolds are great right out of the box. you wont gain anything with exhaust a small block until you bolt a blower on it or spin it well above the RPM limit of the 290DP

So, does everybody agree that all risers and manifolds are the same?
I just wont buy something without doing a little research.

What about the manifolds that have smooth, individual runners versus the cheap, generic ones?

How about the reversion hook that some risers exhibit versus the ones with a smooth path?

I am sure somebody has some advice on a better brand.
I know there is better efficiency to be had just looking at the Y pipe as a pinch in the overall system.

I am thinking a 454 would have the same power as a 350 if it has to breathe through a single 1.5 inch diameter pipe...

Thanks, Roy

There are other options, hy tek marine makes stainless, and hardin marine has their seaward series. They are pricey though. They would save a lot of weight, and add room in tight engine bays. Not sure they would add much performance, but I am sure it would be some. I will look into this next winter myself.

The difference will be not noticeable I think. Better with head work and a cam is think.
