I have a bad steering arm assembly and i heard rumor that there was a thread on replacing one. Anyone have it bookmarked? I couldn't find it through the search.

It looks like it's time to invest in a manual.:D

Agree with the manual. You'll have to pull the p/h and more to to repair it.

I believe you're right but then the mtr will have to be removed from the boat to get the steering shaft out of the pivot hsg.

Re: Looking for steering arm replacement thread or help.

1: You need to remove the gear case to get rid of the shift rod going through.
2: You need to remove the lower rubbermount holding the bracket to the leg.
3: You will need quite some HEAT to get the screws loose, which probably may ruin the upper mount, which again means removing the powerhead to change.
4: You need a hoist to hold the powerhead and leg if you manage to get the screws loose.
Bottom line, probably bigger job than changing pistons!!
