looking to buy suzuki 85hp, 1989

hello, im selling my big merc and looking to buy a suzuki 85hp. there is one listed on the local paper with controls, cables, wireharnes, ss prop, guages and TILT/TRIM.<br /><br />i know what to look for in general, as I own 9 other outboards currently, but is there anything specific to this motor i should look for, such as injectors or sensors? all of my other motors are older without fancy electroonics. thanks in advance<br /><br />m ikey

Phatmanmike I own one and based on my experience and what I have read they are solid engines if taken care of. Early models (I don't know when it changed) had some problems with the head gasket which contributed to clogging the cooling channels. I had to replace my head gasket with the newer design and it has run good since. The only other issue seems to be that you may break bolts on disassembly so learn how to helicoil. The Mikuni carbs on it like to be kept clean so put a good fuel filter on it if it doesn't already have one.
