Is this from flooding problem? Motor starts fine and runs great, except for in the hole pulling skiers. Any help would be greatful. Thanks

85hp v4 1975 jonny motor . When I go to pull up a waterskier it takes a 1/2 block to get them up. But my main problem right now is when using muffs I have gas rainbows on the driveway in the water. Anything would help.

When I'm pulling up skiers I have to drag them about a 1/2 block before they can get up. After they are up every thing runs fine. Is this because I'm flooding out?
Thanks

Get a propeller with a shorter pitch so that you get more thrust. It will probably cut down on your top end, but will get you out of the hole more quickly.

What kind of boat are you using?

...and BTW, the aforementioned rainbows are all part of owning a 2 stroke motor. You will get them on the water as well. Be sure your t stats are functioning, and switch to a full synthetic or biodegradeable oil if you like, which will help some.

16' fiberglass starcraft redone. I have a 14X17 Alum prop from Johnson. Boat tops out @ 35mph.
