While running my 1995 70 hp Force motor at about 4,000 rpm on my pontoon boat the motor shut off as if I had just turned the key off. After I tried starting the engine and failed I removed the cover and found a loose wire that was attached to the thermostat on back of the head. The white wire is about 12 to 14 inches long with a male bullet plug on the end. I am unable to locate where this wire plugs in.

I purchased this new pontoon and motor in 1995. I have replaced plugs and switches for tilt and trim and a few other things over the years. But I don?t remember ever seeing this loose wire. Motor probably has less than 150 hours on it.

Probably have to take the coils off and find the wire.
