Ok, just put the boat in the water today, its been sitting all winter. Last year it ran great, and last year I put on a new carb. During winter storage, the fuel was run out of the carb, this year, I put in a new impeller in the leg. Then today put it in the water, idled around a little bit to make sure no overheating and that the water pump was working ok, all seemed ok, so throttled up, cruised for a few minutes at 2500rpm, it was fine, then I throttled up to WOT ran great at about 3500rpm for a couple minutes, then all of a sudden just started loosing power?? I back out of it and it ran fine, tried to throttle up more again, and it wouldn't run up?? So we just tied it up for now, to wait for better weather, was pretty lumpy out. The boat is 1977 I think, its a OMC stearn drive, with Ford 302 engine. Like I said, new carb last year, previous year, we put in electronic ignition. I'm thinking its maybe loosing fuel?? Maybe choke plate is sucking closed??? Just looking for some idea's to check when I go back out.

Ya, I suppose we should just do filters just because. Its funny though, that it ran up ok for a min, then powered out?? Gas is 89 octane from the fuel dock, that's all they got.

Replaced the fuel filter today, seems allot better, had a couple hiccups, but after a 10 mins of running it seemed to smooth out fine.
